Broken Receiver for Bumper Fog Light

Hopefully you can figure out what I am referring to.....

I was doing some low level dirt road running last week in New Mexico and the appearance ring around the fog light/driving light in the lower bumper popped off. I was able to locate it and pop it back in, but I noticed that two of the three hooks on the receiver for this appearance piece had snapped off. It looks like the receiver is part of the entire bumper so I am not sure how to fix short of getting a new bumper. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

P.S. With the dirt road I was on, I would think all the plastic parts would stay put. Aside from this, I had a truly excellent time getting the "Beast" coated with dirt!

it doesnt hold with any amount of glue, epoxy etc etc... I had this same problem you speak of. You need to remedy the issue quickly, what will happen is that moisture will find its way in to the fog light and it will eventually corrode the foglight houseing(yeah it happened to me) The only way I got it to work was to replace the bumper(this happened after an accident) You may have some more luck in using a silicone glue or something, maybe a body shop can glue it in place for you. Also make sure your foglights are in good shape because once its glued in place, it wont come off till you pry it off.

Indeed. I was hoping that there was an alternative short of replacing the bumper. I was and am going to try the silicone adhesive/sealant first. Thanks for responding.

there is a very strong silicone cement that body shops use... I would try and get your hands on that, because you will start losing those caps, I went through about 6 @$2x.xx a pop

I had a dent repair guy come to the office and he said he could fix it with probably the same type of stuff you mentioned. It has been on for about three months without incident. Without the piece on, the bumper looked like another piece of trailer trash. Now looks good again.

Just got back from some off road and blew out the rear tire in the process....nasty event; but the fog light cap stayed on!!!
