ML63 German built parts question

I am considering ordering the new ML63 and was wondering if anyone knows what of the AMG parts comes from germany already assembled?? Engine? trans? etc. I did have an 02 ML500 sport and was not too impressed with the build quality. if anyone has first hand experience with the new model i would appreciate any feedback, thanks

It has been posted - I believe by a member who works at the plant in Alabama. Have you tried a thread search?

If I remember right, the engine and transmission are shipped from Germany....

Well for sure the engine/trans come from Germany, the rest is sourced from certain German suppliers that have set up shop around the plant in Bama and the rest is sourced from good ole American suppliers. Various interior pieces are sourced from American suppliers and it shows! Especially that awful looking steering wheel that has huge gaps between the buttons and wood on the top edge only, an obvious bid won by the lowest cost supplier. German made Benzes have full wood steering wheels and no gaps or loose fitting buttons.
