I know I'm bringing up an ancient thread but this is all I could find on spark plugs...and there is no info. Anybody have experience with changing out their spark plugs on the ML63? Dealer just quoted me $600 and I laughed outloud and told them hell no. I've done many spark plugs in my life so can't imagine it will be too different. Wondering what plugs and gaps people recommend?

Cheers,
AV

I have done mine myself and it's very easy.
The hardest ones to remove are up the back near the firewall.

You will need an extension with an elbow (movable) piece.

Other than that, it's very simple.

I changed the pigs on my car with 65kms on it, and it made a noticeable difference to the response of the car.

Thanks! I've got all the tools but just haven't opened up the hood much to see what it will take. I was assuming it wouldn't be that hard. If I can work on my S4 with the miles of vacuum hoses and fuel lines and other ridiculous things stuffed into that tight little engine bay I'm sure that I can handle the ML.

I started searching through the E63 and C63 threads last night...they have so much more info! Come on ML guys!!! Let's try to keep up!

Are the recommended upgrades for plugs still the NGK's or have people been happy with the Bosch OEM? Any experience among the ML guys.

I'm looking at these... http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/part_fi...engineid=31806

Cheers,

Yeah, the E63 and especially the C63 Forum there is much more info. Same engine which is handy.

Those are the exact same plugs I used (in the link)

Yes, Audi is very crammed. Very easy to work on our engine in the ML. Took me about 1hr total time. Could prolly be don't quicker bit I was being very careful.
