Whoopsy, I didn't want to hijack SL55Dude's post. I only know October I don't have a specific date yet. How long ago did you get your date? Are you dealing with the Broadway store?

I ordered mine thru Richmond store, on the order list mine is showing 10.3 which means october build, that's it. I know mine is october build from the time when I ordered my car back in August, as I took one of the last 2 manager slots on schedule.
Actually all US build Mercs would show .3, but for Germany build cars they have .1 .2 .3, meaning the build is the 1st, 2nd or 3rd 10 days of the month.
Theory from Mercedes is that the Germans are more efficient so they can be scheduled within 10 days, the lazy union-ed americans cannot be scheduled as tightly, and the margin is 30 days instead for US build cars. Make sense to me.

I had one of my worst dealings with a salesman at the Boardway store but I found one of the best salesman I have met in the Richmond store. 5 years ago I walked in there wanting to buy a new CL55, the damn salesman took me upstairs and showed me a USED CL500, told me it's cheaper and more likely to fit my budget!!! I left immediately and went down to MCL and bought one of the first 02 C4S, it was ordered by someone but Porsche made a mistake in the interior color and he doesnt want it anymore, I happened to be in the showroom when that conversation happens, I bought the car on the spot and drove it back to the Boardway store and talked to the manager about the incident. That salesman was fired on the spot in front of me.

I'm dealing with the North Vancouver store and all I know so far is that I have the 2nd ML63 that they have been assigned. When the CLK55 cab was first shown at I believe the Chicago auto show in March 2001, I went first to the Broadway store and then the Boundary store and neither store knew what I was talking about and I think they thought I was crazy. I went to the North Van store and met a salesman who is a car guy and he knew all about it. I ordered it on the spot, then had to wait 9 months for them to build it. This time, I never thought of going to any other store.

I'd forgotten about the build date coding. My CLK was a 11.2 build as a matter of fact. I haven't talked to them for a few weeks so maybe they have the order sequence now. I will check.

your car had the same 10.3 as my car, so quite possibly it's been built already but hasn't been put on rail. For US made cars, there will be no update until they get on the rail, we might get our cars at the same time, all depends on who gets to the dealership first But then again the crew at the rail's receiving end at Annacis Island are on strike so we might not get our cars any time soon

I have a November build in Calgary and have been told to expect it just before xmas. It kills me that I put a deposit down in Sept 06 and am still waiting. You hear these stories out of the U.S. of 3 sitting on a lot and 3K off MSRP deals and it is hard not to be jealous!

Thanks for that update Whoopsy! Let's hope there are no delays at the terminal that will require us to conduct a midnight raid on a moonless night.

UPDATE: My dealer confirmed today that a serial number has been issued so the beastie has been built. He did confirm though that it hasn't left the factory yet and he said that the AMG models usually take a little longer to ship. I can look for a delivery date hopefully in mid-November.
