Build date

Actually all US build Mercs would show .3, but for Germany build cars they have .1 .2 .3, meaning the build is the 1st, 2nd or 3rd 10 days of the month.
Theory from Mercedes is that the Germans are more efficient so they can be scheduled within 10 days, the lazy union-ed americans cannot be scheduled as tightly, and the margin is 30 days instead for US build cars. Make sense to me.
I had one of my worst dealings with a salesman at the Boardway store but I found one of the best salesman I have met in the Richmond store. 5 years ago I walked in there wanting to buy a new CL55, the damn salesman took me upstairs and showed me a USED CL500, told me it's cheaper and more likely to fit my budget!!! I left immediately and went down to MCL and bought one of the first 02 C4S, it was ordered by someone but Porsche made a mistake in the interior color and he doesnt want it anymore, I happened to be in the showroom when that conversation happens, I bought the car on the spot and drove it back to the Boardway store and talked to the manager about the incident. That salesman was fired on the spot in front of me.

I'd forgotten about the build date coding. My CLK was a 11.2 build as a matter of fact. I haven't talked to them for a few weeks so maybe they have the order sequence now. I will check.
But then again the crew at the rail's receiving end at Annacis Island are on strike so we might not get our cars any time soon
