Below 1500 RPM..
Maybe I am a little too used to my last E55, as the s-charger gave all the fun down low...Now the fun on the ML63 starts a bit higher....Is it me or is it just a little on the pipe type of engine....but once it hooks in Look Out...
just reminds me a little of turbo lag down low....I think a free er flow exhaust will do the trick...
Anyone find K&N filters yet!

I know what you're saying and I think your right in your assumptions. I came from an E55 also, so I remember the freight train acceleration of the SC'd engine. (pre-flash) The ML63 feels very much like the E63 in power delivery so I'm betting it's just a characteristic of the engine. I'm not at all surprised by that. When driving the two 63's back to back the ML almost felt faster but I think thats because it sits higher in he seat. I know the E63 is faster, but just slightly. You are right though that when is really hooks up in about third gear... it'll flatten your eyeballs.
