So yesterday I had the pleasure of test driving the ML63. WOW. WOW. Very sweet. Very, very fast. But I was thrown by the sticker, for an ML, 93K? What is MB trying to do? Truck looks really nice to sitting on 20's. It looks mean, squatty almost. Fun drive, really fun drive.. But, 93K?

What they are charging for the ML63 is about the largest premium they have ever had for an AMG upgrade (except for the 12 cylinder models). But, they are also including more options in that price than ever before. I think they wanted to go after the Cayenne Turbo market with at least equal performance and a near equal price and option level. With a $36,300 premium over the ML500 I wonder what will happen to the resale values of the ML63. Compare the ML price jump with other MB models. The jump from top of the line to AMG versions of: CLS = $25,200 premium, SLK = $15,100 premium. When you buy a heavily optioned car you typically don't get back what you paid for those options when you resell the car. Time will tell.
