I did it. Placed my order.
$4k under msrp. They said 8-12 weeks, does that sound right?
Iridium silver/black (yeah I know very original) with all options except rear dvd screens and distronic.
I'm stoked and probably going to read this forum a lot more now... too bad it doesn't get as much traffic.
I'm trading away my M5 for it. One of the best cars I've owned and it will be missed.

Won't miss it too much. I've had the M5 for over a year now and had my fill. I have an RS4 and ever since I picked it up, the M5 has been doing a lot of sitting in the garage. The RS4's 6-speed manual is a joy to shift, the car is joy to drive and is generally more hard-edged and sportier, and the handling is on par with the M5 if not with slightly more mechanical grip. The only thing the M5 is better at than the RS4 is straight line acceleration, but even that is close. Also, the M5 is more comfortable as a daily driver, but that's why I'm getting the ML63

It seems the M5 and RS4 can keep up with each other. I hope this isn't too off topic: I'm sure you must have seen the M5 vs RS4 video? Its the craziest driving on a busy highway somewhere.
