Ipod nano looped
Had the mp3 harness installed a month ago. Finally got around to hooking up a brand new 8 GB nano yesterday (which worked fine with headphones). The ML could not read the ipod and now the screen stays lit with the MB symbol and OK to disconnect displayed all the time but the unit is unresponive. Not accessible from the ML or ITunes diagnostics. Does not register when you plug it into the USB. Does not respond to charging or any buttons... looped?
I remember earlier that there was an inconclusive post suggesting that the ML may be frying ipods. Just wanted to start a new thread so we can see if a pattern emerges.

Yes, it could certainly be the nano. Interestingly I left the nano locked on for 24 hours and it ran out of juice. I recharged it and it worked fine until I connected it to the ML and it locked again.
There was an earlier post where an ML was accused of stopping an ipod from working. I post now simply to see if these are isolated incidents. I will try and get another ipod and hook it up to see what happens. Then I will update this post.

I took the nano back to the store. They were out of the 8 GB nanos so I picked up a 30 GB. The new model works with the ML without a hitch. I had wanted to stick with the nano to avoid moving parts but no matter. That nano must have been a dud. Anyone have success with the nano variety?

I have a 30gig Ipod and my dad's ML did the same. Once the Ipod runs out of juice it runs again normally.
I doubt it is an Ipod issue, must be the Integration kit... Oh well. I didn't buy my E55 for an Ipod hookup
