SIRIUS Radio module
Does anyone have the part # for the Sirius Radio Module that goes with the ML63 with Nav?
In Canada they don't come with the module and the dealership tells me that it is not available for Canada......BS as far as I am concerned.
Anyways does any one have a part # for or know of a good place to order one?
Thanks in advance

Big bad news, the Canadian MLs are not pre-wired for the SAT radio, the headunit has the proper button and input, it's just there for show. If you REALLY want it, you will need to obtain the Sirius module, the wiring harness from the headunit to the module, the harness from the module to the antenna and the antenna itself. You will also need to pull the headliner and some more panels to run the harness.
It does sucks big time for the truck to be NOT pre-wired, I just bought a 335xi and even though Sirius is not available from BMW Canada, the cars are all pre-wired already, just like the US cars. I however was able to obtained one from the US and had it installed.

What a pain!!! Mind you my GC SRT8 was the same where I had to run the wiring harness and install the antenna. No real big deal but do they think we live in IGLOOS here in Canada?
At least this goes for the guy that made the decision not to install satellite radio in all Canadian MB's

It's all CRTC's fault, actually that and Sirius Canada.
CRTC didn't want to approve the radios yet because they don't want to take the FCC cert, they'd rather show who is boss and do their own cert.
Sirius Canada has been spreading rumors since the beginning of time on how US Sirius equipment will not work in Canada because they do not get to collect royalty from the sale. A lot of dealers bought into that arguement, took me a while to convinced my BMW parts guy that YES the US equipment WILL work and it's all just plug and play. I ended up showing him my sirius module in my Turbo before he was convinced 100% that Sirius Canada was lying to them. I had no such luck with my MB parts guy yet, they are still convinced that a US module will NOT work in Canada and told me they cannot pull up any part number related to Sirius radio module.
I am seriously contemplating calling dealers in/around Seattle and have them ordered the necessary parts and have them retrofit my car with it.

i have been looking all over the net as well for any parts or the module with no luck.
I just spoke to a guy at a MB dealership in Boise and he told me that they had no part # for any Sirius Radio for the ML63. The only way you can get that is if you order it with that option from the factory....even in the US.
Her said he was at a meeting where they brought this up and they were told that is would be too labour intensive to install at the dealerships and that is why MB did it this way.
Where is the plant? I am going to knock on their door and ask them for some parts

Thanks Super Mod for the info, but I guess it's a few months too late for the pre-wire code
Joporn: I got the same answer from a Seattle dealer, seems ike they can't find any part number related to the sirius radio. Might have to bite the bullet and install a Sirius branded module. I haven't figure out where to put the radio in the truck yet, seems like there is no room for me to put the radio around the center console.
My CLS was pre-wired but it's leaving my garage in a month or so, I found myself liking the ML63 much more than the CLS55 and it has become useless sitting in the garage, I am gonna move it to make room for my incoming 335xi.

I am going to check with friend of mine that does car audio out of Red Deer, Alberta. he has done a few Overhaulin shows with Foose and he did a pretty trick install for me on my 4runner by hiding the XM module.
If you don't use your ashtray I think that could be a good spot.
Again, where is the plant? Lets go there and knock on their door and get a module & harness. I will pay cash

pretty sure it is delphi. I know thats who makes it for the cars... i think its the same unit for the MLs.
Plant is in Vance Alabama USA. The wiring is gonna be expensive since it is fiber optic. The factory install sirius option for USA is 500 bux.

I called Delphi today with out any luck.
I don't think it will be too expensive as I have purchased a Sirius module, wiring and antenna for an GC SRT8 for less than $400 bucks.
Installation is what will be costly.

From my pastexperiences with Porsche and BMW experience, Porsche charged US$1000 for the module and the required harness, +6 hr labour for install. my Bimmer is pre-wired so I just need the module, BMW US list the module @ US$500, same part number, if I ordered thru BMW Canada, it' CAD$1100. Unbelievable. But at least it's only gonna be an hr or 1.5hr install.
I figured MB is gonna charge around Porsche's price for the module and harness, and with all the r&r on the panels I figured it's gonna be a 8hr job.
For BMW, there is this realoem.com site that list most of the models' parts manual and numbers, is there a comparabe site for MB?
God, I just wish there is someone from MB here to enlight us.

What you could do is get the VIN of a US ML with Sirius (find one on ebay) and call Phil smart or someone in seattle and see if they can give u the parts (module and wiring). I think you will be looking at 1000 in parts. Did you check the full sheet of option codes on your vehicle to see if it has the wiring?
There is a retrofit kit i believe for the E-class and SL-class for non-prewire cars to get sirius, dunno if anything was done for the ML.
