What Performance upgrades do you have?

I am looking at possibly doing some upgrades to my ML. What have you done and would you recommend it to others?

I am personally thinking of doing an ECU Upgrade. Has anyone used RennTech?

I have a powerchip and it is way better than Renntech ECU (Powerchip only does ECUs), thats there specialty. Renntech does it all, so the chip doesnt get as much attention to detail

SL 55 Renntech, ML 63
i have the Renntech ECU. i think i was the 2nd person to get one. i recommend it. noticably more power thru the gears and generally sportier feel, all limiters off, and actually a little better mpg.

AMG ML63, M3 CSL, Z4M Coupe, New Audi TT, Audi R8 (coming)
I have the SprintBooster fitted (which acts like a 'sport' button on the electronic throttle). This is the very least you should do, because it transforms the driving experience. Ordinarily I wouldn't call this a performance upgrade but because of the lethargic way the 7-sp auto box normally works, the SprintBooster actually seems to improve performance.

Just selecting 3rd in Manual mode and with the SprintBooster fitted makes quite a difference in pickup and subsequent acceleration. It's as if Mercedes deliberately inhibit the power until later in the rev range.

Powerchip is better than renntech when chips are concerned. oh yeah, and they are a lot cheaper. The Gains are great I got 24 AWHP and 32 AWTQ Renntech gets half of that

Great feed back guys, Keep them coming.
For those of you that got the ECU upgrades, did you have to ship it away to get it programmed. What was their turnaround time?

Sprintbooster....well I have been trying to contact a couple of vendor but with no response. I want this now but until someone responds I will wait. Where did you guys buy yours from?

I got mine done here @ powerchip and stealthauto in LA. I do believe they have a 48 hour turnaround time if you plan to ship the ECU out here.

what can anybody say about aftermarket exhausts? I plan to take one... which one is better? but i dont need race sound... only a little bit louder then stock.
When filters removed... does it take a good hp gain? and good sound?

Doubt you'll hear changes in sound with just removal of the filters. If you want something crazy like blue monster just remove resonators and mufflers.

i think in this case the sound will be crazy... i need only a little louder exhaust. It is not typical for SUV to sound like dragster
