2000 ml55 navigation not working
just bought a 2000 ml55 navigation did not work lights up but didnt recognize where i was but would give directions. i just purchased the new navigation disks but still not working. i just realized that the unit is not picking up any satilites? the antenna on the roof was bent, the radio works fine could it be the antenna or do i need to go to mercedes benz for updated software? thanks any help would be appreciated went to old treads but could not find anything about satilites not being picked up:

did you ever solve this problem? i just also bought an ML 55 amg year 2000 and am having the same problem, no satelites, wont shop anything on the map, but lights up and can use all the menus... help someone

I have hte same problem and have found that most people replace the stock NAV antenna with a dash mounted Pioneer antenna. Has a square plug with a grey connector and can be had for under 20$ on ebay. All you do is get a set of radio keys (also on ebay for under $15 shipped), pull your radio out and plug hte new antenna in. Then run the wire under the dash, and mounted the little box type antenna in the corner of your dash and your set. Its an easy fix, and you would need to use this type of antenna if you went with an aftermarket unit anyways. From what Ive heard, the connectors in the roof mounted antenna corrode very easily from moisture. You can first try pulling the radio and cleaning the plug and contacts for the stock antenna and see if this helps (it didnt in my case). Im going to go with the Pioneer antenna solution. easy, cheap fix!
