Question Snow Tire ?

It appears that I waited too long to pick up a set of 295/40/20 snow tires for this season. I wanted the Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow but everywhere I have looked, called, or checked online says they are officially sold out for the season. (same with the Dunlops made in this size, and I think these are the only 2 winter tires in this size)

If anyone knows of a retailer with this size, please post or pm me. Or if anyone has a set to sell, I'm a buyer...

In case I cannot locate this size, I am also considering my other options. The first is using a 275/40/20, which others have posted will fit and will work well. Some local installers, however, have warned me that there is too much difference in overall diameter. Some of the online tire calculators i have checked indicate about a 2.16% difference in diameter (28.66 in vs 29.29 in). I have been told that anything under 3% is considered acceptable, but I would like to confirm.
Another option is a 275/45/20, which is about a 1.52% difference (to the larger side). Has anyone used this size on the stock AMG 20" wheels? Would there be any specific advanatages or disadvantages to using the 45 series over the 40?
Finally, the other option I have considered is a 265/45/20, which is only a 0.31% difference in overall diameter, and according to websites, will still fit a 10" wide rim. Obviously it will be a lot skinnier, and will sacrifice dry performance, but skinnier is better in snow. ANyone ever used this size or heard of others using it?

TIA for any help and assistance...

Canada:

I took the road less travelled and have been very happy with my Nokian Hakka SUV 5's. I run them on the stock rims without a problem.

What size? 275/40/20 or 295/40/20?

Just a heads up, I just ordered a set of Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snows 275/45/20s for my truck. Originally, i was going to go with the 285/45/19s which I thought would fit, but my tire dealer just called me back after ordering them and told me they would not fit. 295/40/20s were indeed sold in Canada, but he had a set of 275/45/20s which I will be getting, along with winter wheels since I don't want to damage my AMG rims.

That's interesting, because the 285/45/19 is actually closer in width and overall diameter than the 275/45/20, even though the wheel itself is smaller diameter.

I wonder why the dealer said they wouldn't fit?
