My dyno test

I just did a 4 wheel hub dyno test for my ML63 prior to putting in a Powerchip so i could get a baseline number and i consistently recorded 290kW or 395hp at the rear wheel. I think this is a terrific result given the crank numbers are 375kW / 510hp and implies a drivetrain loss of 23%.

I think that is a pretty good result for a 4WD and only marginally worse than the "average" drivetrain loss you see in rear wheel drive cars of circa 20%. The only mod i have done is a mille miglia exhaust which i did purely for "aural" reasons not even thinking it would give me extra power (or at least the sense of it). The car felt faster to me after the system was put in, not being too mechanically minded it had not even occured to me that new muffler cans would add any power. Perhaps this dyno test would suggest that it has made a small difference? Has anyone dyno'ed a totally stock car on a hub dyno??
