Thanks schmick325,
Attached is a copy of the electrical wiring of the paddle switches and others ..that it might be of use to other members.

Now you mentioned above that I will not be able to shift gears unless I'm in motion, but with the actual steering wheel and paddles I can do that, I just went to check now to be certain and once I select D I can select gear from one to 7 in stand still !!

Hmm, interesting.

What car do you have?

I can't remember if my car did that when I had the old rocker switches in.

Not really a big deal anyway

I doubt your car will drive off from a standstill in 6th or 7th!

No but it comes handy to start in second or third gear when you sit on ice

Good to hear.

I drove a 2009 ML63 the other day (factory fitted paddles) and you could not change up gears with the car stationary.

Must be an AMG model thing

Possibly , all I can say that it is a sport edition and it has got all the posiible MB options except LINGUATRONIC, that is why I needed the new S.Wheel buttons.
Thanks for the help

Just curious...what is this 2-pin for? There is nothing connected to it.

My 2007 ml350 gear change paddles don't work at all

The paddles do nothing. Is there a setting to activate? Could they be totally worn out? The ml350 has the sport package.

I'd like suggestions before I tear into it.

I did disconnect the battery for over an hour for a different issue, but no change.

There are no transmission codes when I connect my icarsoft 980.
