Help Dyno cant measure HP!

Guys, Need some help here, I tried to get my truck Dynoed today (dynojet), but the run kept on getting aborted because the diff in speed between the front and rear axles was too large. the front axles were running about 1/2 to 2/3's the speed of the rear axles.

Any thoughts on how to correct this?

BTW does anyone have some Dyno numbers on a Stock ML63?

TIA

Hi mate

I had my ML dynoed on a 4Whub dyno with with only mod being Mille Miglia mufflers (so nothing like a whole new exhaust system but pretty straight through mufflers). I achieved 291kw at the wheels or 388 whp. From my research the rule of thumb is circa 25% drivetrain loss with a 4WD car so that implies 517hp at the crank (car in total stock form is 503hp. No acurate torque reading could be made due to issues you noted above.

I recently attempted another dyno after Vath V63RS install and the power overwhelmed the dynapack hub dyno. The tuner i use said this is a common complaint and that Dynapack are working on a software improvement that will allow for accurate readings of vehicles such as ours. The bad news is that it wont be available until end of the year they reckon!

Thanks buddy, I did see your post re the dyno. Although there is also a Dynopack over here in Manila I have been using a Dynojet for the C63. I will pay the other place a visit and see what they have to say.
