Help with a possible 2001 ML55 purchase
I just came across a 2001 ML55 with 130K miles that I can get for about $8000. Owner has had it for about 8 years and it appears to be in good shape from the pictures. Will look at it next weekend. What types of things should I look for and with 130K miles could I be buying something that I will have to sink lots of $ into?
Would like to hear from some owners who have high mileage and what I can expect? Also good price?

I just got done test driving the car and was not impressed at all. I drive a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee v8 with 225HP and my car felt faster. I wonder if due to the mileage that this car lost power or what? Would have to drive another one to figure it out.

2001 ML55 AMG (Silver)
That truck has to have major issues. An ML55 should feel a world faster then a v8 225hp grand cherokee. Its a lighter truck with 125 more hp. 130k is a lot of miles. It may not totally be at the end of its rope, in terms of engine life, but almost all the accessories and other stuff on the motor would have to be changed/serviced, if they havent been. Maintenance records would be a must for a vehicle with this many miles. I guess the price isnt that bad, but expect to sink in another 2-3 grand over time, unless the previous owner was a freak for preventative maintenance. I wouldnt wanna throw $8k at a truck with that many miles regardless of the make. Your way better off spending a little more and getting one with less miles or find something else that better suits your budget.
