New ML55 Engine
Automobile Magazine reports that the upcoming ML55 engine will be a 6.3 liter normally aspirated 400hp mill.
Interesting.
Interesting.

I'm not an expert on engine displacement but it seems that it's a bit too much for the M113 engine. Perhaps that's a brand new V8 engine .

The current V8's will run out by 2005 and will be replaced by completely new 4-Valve models.

You are right that AMG did rebuild the old 6.0 l V12 to a 6.3 l version. However since the 6.0 l V12 engines ran out, AMG can't convert them to 6.3 l versions.

race in whatever...
of course the ml needs more horses...its the best when i pull up with those civics that's somewhat souped up then they look at my ml 55 and think its just a big piece of metal, but then i whoop their asses cause of teh 347 hp i have in my truck.... the feeling is amazing, cause it just surprises them that i have such a fast engine in that truck. Even if you give me the newest bugatti or the newest cl 63, with around 600 horses, i'll still race with it...bottom line to all, race with whatever you got...racing is the best thing ever!!!

Nissan 350Z & Toyota Landcruiser 100 Tdi, i lack a benz...but one day
even if the ml55 get the kompressor v8 with 500 horses, it would be a SUV not to mess with. with that 4wd on permanently would be the best tool to have to best take off. the new e55's engine power is cut all the way to somewhere like 100km/h
so with 4wd more power transfered more efficently
5.5L V8 kompressor + ML + 4WD = tons of traction and we have a SUV rocket
You will hammer almost anything with that
and a 65 engine in that new cl65 in the ml.......HAHAHA that would be insane
probably none of this would happen but i reckons its a good idea. cause MB will have to catch that Porsche Cayene turbo sooner or later.

The new M-class will premier fall 2004 in the US and spring 2005 in europe. A new AMG-model will follow a few months later with a xxxxxx (sorry!) engine.
2004 there will also be the anniversary edition of the G-class with a 5.5l V8 Kompressor.

Ronald
