biofuelE85 for ML 55 AMG
Hello from frankfurt/germanyto all ML 55 drivers! Since today I am also a member of mb world and I have a questin to gasoline /biofuel E85. In an other forum in france i read, ML 2001 -2003 can useE85 witout any chanching or box in USA. But i did not find an official statement of Mercedes. Is there any one using E85 without box. Sorry for my english!

I have tried E85 in mine. It ran ok for about a day. After that, the check engine light came on and the truck was way down on power. The mileage also dropped from an average of 14.1 to 8.2 mpg. I started adding 91 the same day and the light went back off a couple of days after that on its own. Power and mileage were also restored to the previous state. So I would say... no, you cannot run it without a mod.

In the meantime I tried E85 since 4 weeks and my car ran very,very well. No problems!
But, it makes no sence, because the car takes 40% more with E85.
So you can not save money.Wih gasoline it takes 16liter/100km, with E85 24liters.
