It's my understanding the running boards were a no charge option on the 2013 ML63. I specifically told my sales lady NOT to include them in our build. HOWEVER... My ML arrived with them anyway and I hate them with a passion!

I've asked my dealer for the build sheet and he claims they can't find it. I don't know if MB messed up or my dealer. What are my options? Does anyone have a tool to build my option list based on VIN?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

There is a way to get the Data Card of your car from the VIN number. Do not know if this would be of much help, as (at least what I have) it only contains the actual built codes, but not what was ordered. The data card is available from your dealer or to anyone who subscribes to the EPC Mercedes online system (Electronic Parts Catalogue). I believe it is free for US customers. I got mine from the EU (European) system partly so that I have a record / partly out of curiosity.

The service department has the ability to do a VMI - vehicle master inquiry. On the off chance that they were added incorrectly, that's where the discrepancy would be. I am not aware of any way to see the pre-built sheet.

I'm pretty sure they can be added to a non-runningboard ML without drilling any holes. So logically they would be able to be removed.

I ordered my demo without them and I am happy I did. I have no use for them and prefer the cleaner look.

Damn are you serious? This really sucks! I hope they wont screw up on my car. I guess you can take it off but then need to buy the regular part. Not fair if it s your dealer who screwed up! Did you try Talking to them?
