ML63 - New Rims 22" - More pics Updated
Took the plunge and changed my rims today.
I have attached a couple of pics. I will take better pics soon, and upload them.
This rims are copy C63 AMG Rims, 22 x 10 all round. With Pirelli Scorpion 295 / 30
The rims are +35 offset.
I think the stance of the car is now alot better than factory.
From factory, i had 21 x 10, +46. These rims sit out 11mm more than factory, which fills the guards so much nicer.
I didnt change the rims because i wanted a bigger rim, i just didnt like the design of the factory style. If i could have had these in 21", i would have, and just used my original tyres, because they were only 1500kms old.
The whole rolling diameter only changed by 0.4%, which was as close to factory as i could get.
The ride still feels great as it always did.

Very cheap IMO.
As I said, I didn't really want to go bigger than stock size, but I really didn't like the style of the factory rim. I just wanted something clean and simple.
Thank you for all the positive comments!

From a wheel shop in Sydney. St George Tyres. The package is $1700 with basic tyres. I ended up paying $2700 with these tyres, and this offset.
Very cheap IMO.

Shoot them an email. They are pretty helpful.

You would get tax free too I think (10%).
The brand of the rims is APEC. But if you tell them you want the ones that they just did on an ML63 they would know which ones.
If I can be of any help let me know.

Looks awesome! Yes, 30-35mm offset is the perfect amount for 10" wide rim. Offset makes a huge difference in how the car looks, and it also improved the way the car handles and turns into corners due to the wider track width (similar to adding spacers minus the danger)

Sorry to hijack your thread. But I found the exact rim on eBay here in the us. http://www.ebay.com/itm/271144657482?item=271144657482&viewitem=&vxp=mtr but the offset is not 35 it's 50. I'm no wheel expert. But how much of a different will this make with the stance of the car? I prefer my rim ESP on the rear to look wide. Prefer it to stick out more.

Yes, those are it.
Being a +50 Offset, it would sit 15mm more IN than mine.
Mine WERE +50 offset, but i used spacers. But not regular spacers, these spacers are PRESSED into the rim. So its safer, and more solid.
I can attest, that there is no shakes, wobbles, or anything of the like. Its VERY VERY smooth.

Looks nice! If I may, I would suggest you use some 3M clear film protection around the wheel arches to protect them from the (now increased) sand blast effect of the road. I used to have a C63 with zero road rash until I put 7.5mm spacers on it and almost immediaty, road rash started forming aroubd the arches. I live in Florida, so theres no way that it was due to driving on bad roads.

No problem! I'm sure it can be a DIY type of deal but any shop that does clear bra can do it for cheap. That stuff is amazing. I got half of my ML63 covered with it (about 1000 USD worth of work) and is worth every penny as I dont have to worry about chips or rash.
The other day I saw with horror how my garage door fell on my front bumper right in front of the hood Distronic star (also covered with 3M) after my pulse went back to normal (my wife had to give me some tea) I inspected the baby and not one scratch thanks to the 3M clear film.

Yes, I know the stuff our talking about. My ML has the 3M clear bra on covering the front, up to about quarter way up the bonnet, and fenders.
It had been on there since brand new, and it was only recently that I had removed it, as it was very so slightly starting to discolour around the edges. It's great stuff.

Those rims look great. Very unique. Though the colour is a little off putting.
Something outta Dubai!
They would look great in Black, or Silver.
