Its a common problem. Mine has 2 out.

They cant be replaced individually, its a sealed unit. I have pulled it apart, and discovered this.

Its always the right hand side, and i believe there was a recall because of the leaky seal on the trunk door.

i looked into this recall and its already been completed on my ML. now that the recall is close, there is no post-call work that can be done. they did say someone from corporate could look take a second look to get it covered. but that;s on a case by case situation. Im just going to to bring it in and have my service advisor take a look at it and see if any of my warranty cover it. i got both cpo and extended. *cross fingers*

Very common problem, I had this problem until I gave them the bulletin numbers and they rewired both tail lights. Might have cost me $140 plus tax.

Hasn't blow a bulb in 18 months since the process. I must have changed bulbs every weekend before the service.

The service bulletin is somewhere in a thread around here.
