Need advice on a ML55 purchase
I am currently in the market for a MY 2001 - 2003 ML500 with some miles on it. I went to my local MB dealer this past weekend and after driving a few ML's, I absolutley fell in love with a 2001 ML55 with just under 20k miles. Fully loaded with the red brake option. (No dealer installed accs.) The red brake option is the only option for this MY? This ML55 is in mint condition - Not a scratch on it. The dealer wants $45k and it is Starmark Certified. (It had 4 new tires put on during the cert) My salesperson said that he would throw in the MB extended warranty to cover the vehicle until 2009 or 100k miles. Does anyone know how much the extended warranty from MB would run??
I am turning to the expert advice from the members of this forum. After checking E-bay for ML55 prices, my dealers price seems a bit high straight up for the car. The advantage I would have buying from my MB dealer is that the ML55 is Starmark certified, the extended warranty and the 2.9% financing until the end of this month.
I plan on going back today to show the wife the ML55. I did take some pictures with my camera phone to show her but that wouldn't do the ML55 any justice.
The KBB value of the ML55 is $50 (That is what is listed on the windsheild)
Any advice or comments from the forum members about this deal would be greatly appreciated!

the deal doesn't sound that bad. but, i'm sure you can work it down a bit more...the market is bad right now. i believe the extended starmark runs about $1995.
