New MB Owner - W163 ML55 AMG - Visual Upgrade Recommendations? LED DRL? Side Mirrors?
Hey guys,
This is my first post on MBWorld. I'm a long-time BMW guy - but we have a 4mo old now and my wife's BMW E46 330xi was a bit small to haul the dog and baby around in. My brother-in-law recently took a job at the local MB dealer, so I decided to go for an M-Class SUV over a BMW X Series. I ended up finding an amazing deal on a W163 ML55 AMG - 2001 - Black on Black, 101k miles.
I had a full pre-purchase inspection completed, and am getting a few minor issues sorted out (driveshaft center support, slight valve cover gasket leak, etc).
We've had the ML55 AMG for a few weeks now and love it.
Anyway, I'm looking to do a few minor upgrades to bring her out of 2001. The SUV looks great with it's chrome grill against the black, but I was thinking of adding LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) to replace the OEM fogs, and perhaps adding LED Side Mirror Turn Signals as the newer models have...
What upgrades have you guys done to your W136? What do you recommend? I've got the maintenance covered, and it's an AMG that my wife is daily driving as our family vehicle - so no need for performance mods (plenty of power!
). Just looking to add a little visual lift to the 12yr-old SUV.
If you say go for LED DRL & upgraded Side Mirrors, which brands to you recommend?
