Unhappy ML63 erratic starting

Hi all, I have recently bought an ML63. Great car with the exception of the fact that sometimes it does not start. This tends to happen after I have been for a drive and have stopped, parked up and returned to the car. It turns over but it behaves as if the battery is dead. If I leave it for 15 minutes it then starts. My concerns are that it appears to happen after a drive. The battery has been checked and the car is telling the technicians there are no problems when it is plugged in...........any ideas? Thanks.

I have had a battery that would have correct voltage but under load would not crank.

A few simple things to check with volt meter...
What is voltage with car off?

What is voltage running?

These cars have very sophisticated diagnostics.... So perhaps you need a new shop with better tools.

New, old Mercedes and REAL AMG's.
Shame that MANY technicians are nothing more than code readers and part exchangers these days.

These cars need a minimum voltage to power ecu's and the like. You say the car cranks but sounds like the battery is dead. That could mean a bad battery or bad starter (as starters get hot and are going bad they draw more amps). You need a "chrome box" ( don't know what its called but it has a switch and a meter) that you attach to the battery by two cables resembling jumper cables and throw the switch to measure the current draw on the battery.
