2002 ML 55 AMG Steering noise.
Hello everyone,
Every time I manoeuvre the steering wheel from a cold start I hear a loud "hydraulic" noise.
Any Ideas?
Is it a steering pump malfunction or it just needs fluid replacement?
The noise goes away when the car is warm.
Thank you.

First, check the fluid level. If it is low add more and check. If it does not fix the noise, replace the fluid -> suck, refill, and repeat method.
Sometimes the screen/filter inside the reservoir gets clogged and causes starvation/cavitation to the pump. I just replaced the reservoir on my car and the noise is completely gone.

If the noise is still present, I guess you have issues with the pump, rack or perhaps an issue with the belt.
