The dash-lights (except for two or three in the central section) may start flashing after the car has been the road for some twenty to thirty minutes. They also cause the alarm to sound if the accelerator is pressed while they are flashing. If the car is then stopped and the shift is in P, they may remain illuminated for as long as the car is stationary but would go off when the car starts to move normally. The light illumination is random and unpredictable.
