Ml55 transmission limp mode?

I just recently bought a 2001 ml 55 amg. It seems it was in limp mode when I bought it so I replaced the conductor plate, the 13 pin connector filter and fluid. The shift indicator on the dash does not indicate what gear it's in. Its still in limp mode, I don't have any check engine lights or codes with a generic obd2 code reader. My question would be do I need to have the transmission control unit cleared or does it seem like the transmission shift control module may be bad since I'm not getting any cel's? I've searched and cannot find any problem exactly like mine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Stuck in limp mode

I found out that there's a little opening to the left of your gear shift. Open it up and with a small flat head screwdriver push down on the silver tab. Your shifter will go into gear.

my car was stuck in limp mode. I found out that there is a little door on your shifting column plate. On the left side of the shifter at the bottom there's a little door. Slide that open with the flathead screwdriver and push down the silver metal tab. Your car will go into gear then.
