I have a 2000 ML55 with about 266k miles. Over the past few months, she will sometimes start immediately. At other times, unrelated to temp. etc. she acts as if the battery is dead. I turn the key, the engine starts to turn, but stops, perhaps moving but not sure, just hear the starter engaging the flywheel. If this occurs, I turn the key back and re-try. On the 3rd or 4th re-try, she starts normally. No error lights, but have not done OBD, as it is intermittent I am sure there will be no codes. The other issue, and I believe that both may be AAM related, is that the left turn signal occasionally flashes rapidly. Most of the time it works properly. And yes, I have looked at the bulbs.

Possible crankshaft position sensor? Could be on its last leg. see my other thread.
