Good day guys. I recently got my alternator fixed and installed on my Ml63 w164 2009 model. My battery was flat so when I tried to jumpstart it it short circuited. The jumper cables bacame extremely hot and smoke came out underneath the driver's seat in the battery compartment. It smelled like melting plastic and the battery was also hot. I'm now afraid that I could have caused severe damage to the car as it won't start. Could I have blown fuses and which ones? Could the short circuit be caused by the alternator being connected incorrectly? The dash lights, radio and headlights do switch on but the car won't start. A car diagnostic result stated that my starter control module is damaged permanently. If I have to replace the module how much does it cost roughly Could it be the starter or relays as I suspect that the relays were never changed since I bought the car second hand. Please kindly assist me as I am frustrated and hope this is a minor and less costly matter.
