Quick question. I recently test drove a 2007 ML 63 AMG with 93,000 Miles. It is really clean and It has a good service history. I’m thinking about purchasing it but the transmission feels like is down shifts hard. Is that normal for this car? Am I just not used to all the power? Also when I first went to look at the car it was parked on a hill and the front air suspension was all the way lowered. I started it and it aired up fine and drove great. Could that be the front air suspension failing? All advice would be great, I am excited to have this beast of a car!
+1 I'm also selling my c 63 to buy a 2007 ML 63 but I do not know how the air suspension works as I have never owned a car with air suspension. It has rear entertainment system and don't know how that works. Has digital/analoge TV option and I don't know if thats useful. Is the 6 disc cd/dvd player in dash like the c 63 or does it have a seperate cd changer. Can,t find the simple user answers via search on this forum.....

The Airmatic uses an airbag instead of a spring. The front has a combo air strut and air spring combo as one unit. The rear has a separate shock and air spring setup. The ride height sensors keep the car at the factory height regardless of load. The AMG version has ADS which is an electronic shock absorber. I've had good luck with Arnott but keep in mind their new units do not have functional ADS. The rebuilt units are functional. You could also use a vendor who gives lifetime warranties on their products. If you plan on keeping the Airmatic equipped vehicle long term then the warranty is a must. Shocks/springs will need replacement every 70 to 100k miles. I do not advise going through the dealership since their prices on the suspension items are through the roof expensive.
