2000 ML55 AMG - How to remove tailgate panels

Hello,
I recently acquired a low mileage 2000 ML55 AMG (74,400 miles) from a friend.
The rear wiper/washer does not send water onto the rear windshield. The water is being ejected inside the tailgate and leaks out at the bottom of the door.

I want to remove the tailgate panels to look at the hoses for the tailgate washer and replace or refit or repair as necessary.
Does anyone have detailed step-by-step instructions on how to remove the necessary panels to get access to the washer plumbing area?
I have watched a few videos for different models but have not found details for a 2000 ML55 AMG.
I am concerned that the clips are probably fragile and brittle and that certain pieces may need to be slid to the left or maybe to the right to avoid snapping the plastic clips etc.
Of course, it's only AFTER snapping plastic components that we can usually see how they needed to be slid in the first place to remove them safely.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
