2010 ML63 Rear suspension ?

2010 ML63 Rear suspension ?
Had my ML63 rear brakes done today at a German repair shop. Brakes got done for what I consider reasonable price, only couple hundred more than my C250.
Guy told me the rear shocks were leaking. Air suspension ok but shocks have electronic control and are pricey. I asked about a non-electronic option as it stays in one mode all the time anyways. He said there were some and the electronics could be bypassed
Anyone have and thoughts on this or know of these items?
