I just purchased a 2002 ML 55 in bourbon metallic. It has already been lifted 2 inches with the spacer kit for the rear and the torsion bars cranked up, it has 275/70/18 kenda tires but no front bumper. I have two choices, I can either build a tubular front bumper which is fine, or I can put a factory bumper on it and then build a small pre-runner style exoskeleton around it. The problem is, as I’m sure most already know, The front bumpers are very fragile and hard to come by. Does anyone know if I can put a base model ML 320/ML 350 front bumper on? Mine has parking sensors and fog lights but I can work around that pretty easily. I know that the base bumpers are not as wide but that would give me the ability to build the tubular bumper around the bumper cover.
this is going to be a daily driver, camping rig, and all around adventure wagon. I don’t plan on any kind of wheeling or heavy off-roading. Any info is greatly appreciated!
