2009 ML350 Hazard lights randomly switch on
Need help guys. 3 days ago i noticed that my ML350 hazard lights would switch on randomly after locking the car. i would use the key fob to unlock then lock it again and it would work, but would randomly go off again. Just now i intended to use the vehicle but the key fob no longer works. I tried the physical key and it turned once as if to unlock but then the lock peg didnt go up. now it would just turn easily left to right and not unlock.
What's wrong? How can i unlock the car and start up?

Update:
I managed to unlock the car with the help of some WD40. car battery was fully drained. it's a 6-month old Varta battery. What could have caused the sudden drain? In all likelihood the cause of parasitic drain would probably be the same cause of the random hazard lights going off. Any ideas?
