180k mile ml63

I’m looking to buy a 2007 ml63 with 180k. I’ve read everywhere that head bolts are an issue, but I’m guessing on a 180k ml63 they either been done or just not affected? Just wondering what’s the highest mileage have people gotten on original head bolts? I think I might take a chance since I’ve always wanted one. I currently own a 1999 ml430 with 55k miles and has been a dream would like to add another to the collection.

I got one with about 147k miles. I think out of all the m156 powered cars the ml's are probably least likely to do headbolts and have issues with the valvetrain due to the nature of the vehicle.
But havent lifted the valvecovers on mine yet because its not making any alarming noises from the valvetrain... maybe its been done but I doubt it.

Obviously everyone and their dog thrashes the chit out of c63's so they are going to have a harder life than ML's.

I would be looking very carefully at the valvetrain and wanting to hear a dead cold start after its sat for a couple days on any m156 with 180k miles before I bought it unless its absolute dirt cheap enough to take the risk.

Although I have seen Tasos the m156 master seem to suggest if its gotten to something like 180k miles its probably going to be ok and just keep running it as long as its not making any suspect noises. Either way id be pulling the valve covers every second or third oil change and having a look at everything.
