Fog Light Flickering On and Off, Even with Key Out of Car
Just on the off-chance some has the same problem.
I got a 2002 W163 ML55 I bought for my daughters first car, she wanted something she could sleep in and any other comparable SUV/4WD in the age/price range was either woeful or unsafe, mostly both. It's done 300k km, but all around not bad shape. I already had a 1998 W210 E55 myself, so same engine and gearbox, so...
But, one fog light kept on coming on at strange times, flicking on and off, sometimes staying on or off.
I started pulling fuses, relays, trying all sorts, but nothing added up.
Eventually I found one of the headlight plugs had been pushed in with one pin bent and touching it's neighbour, some of the time it would seem.

Good catch! 👍 I’m guessing when the previous owner changed the bulb, they must have gotten a little careless putting the connector back in place.
