ML63 M156 cat & down pipe

So one thing that I’ve noticed is that no one makes replacement catalytic converter/down pipe assemblies that mate up to the OEM manifolds. MB discontinued the OEM ones and the ones Supersprint makes only bolt up to their long tube headers which isn’t something I want to do (at least as of now) even though I’m sure they make the most power. A good higher flowing cat and mandrel bent down pipe would be nice. I stumbled onto Magnaflow’s website and it looks like they’re going to be coming out with exactly what MB discontinued! I signed up for an email the minute they get released, hopefully some of you fellow ML63 guys will sign up too so that Magnaflow knows there is interest for these!

Magnaflow says no

Conversation with Magnaflow today about cat/pipe combos 21-769 & 21-770... they say no to manufacturing them even though their website says "coming soon". Currently looking for solution as right side has failed after 17 years and 165k miles... Magnaflow does make a cat that will handle up to 7.5 litre engines with center mounted bung for O2 sensor for about $300... unknown if the flowrate and precious metal combinations will be within spec... millibar scale will tell us... stay tuned as we are building cats/pipes but still looking for ECU tunability so valves do not lean out if specs are different... If anyone wants the OEM part you can order thru Pelican for $2975 each with 3 week lead from Germany or $6000 from Dubai... If anyone has a good solution I am all ears. Just trying to solve the issue and do the right thing here... Cheers!

Wow, so that sucks…! I was looking forward to Magnaflow making those since no one else is to my knowledge. Not sure why it says “coming soon” then?!?

Go with the full length headers. Otherwise, you will just add them later.
