connecting I-Pod to stock radio/nav or CD changer. Can it be done?

I would like to put an I-Pod in my ML55. It has the stock radio/nav unit and stock CD changer. Can it be done? Is it DIY or do I have to take to some guru?

Only through an FM Modulator / Cassette Adapter / similar solution. There is no other way to get an audio input to the MCS system.

You can buy a Euro comand (with an aux input)
but the cheapest way is to use the ipod fm modulator.. works really nice (dont use an fm modulator, have Euro comand.. but tried the Ipod fm modulator)

Try this E-Mail Address. He made one for the SLK, but I know he has tested it on some ML's. It's an adapter that plugs between the radio and the Amp and has a connection for an iPod. It's called the bipes adapter and I know it works great with the SLK connection.

Well that's an option, but you'd spend a bunch of money and lose functionality - plus, there would be issues with radio reception, etc. So no real point in doing that. A better option (if you want a new HU) would be to save the money and go for an aftermarket unit.

I have a Euro comand in my W202.. no problems with reception or lose of functionality. has everything the north american comand has plus more.

I have seen something that goes in place of the cd changer an plugs into the fiber optic ring.. not out yet for the benz's.. but coming soon.. heres a link to the site:

Yeh the ice link seems to be a really neat way to play the i-pod.. but need to see one in aciton and see how it looks too.
the Euro comand does not have the play list on the screen.. its only a way to play the music over your stereo system. its just an aux input on the back of the radio to let you plug the i-pod into it and play on your system.. you still need to look at your i-pod to pick songs or scroll through it.
