Replacing my Headlights and Option Codes
Hi,
Model
2007 ML AMG 6.3 Europe. LHD.
Option Codes.
615 BI-XENON HEADLICHT W.ACTVIE CURVELIGHT RIGHT-DRIVE
619 CORNERING ILLUMINATION
I originally thought it would be a good idea to replace the plastic covers and also swap out the projectors.
Once I removed the headlamps and disassembled I realised why I had so many fault codes ref the headlamps as the internal wiring that controls the various electric motors was completed shorted out, insulation gone etc.
So 2 new units needed, My local MB Stealer quoted 1300 Euros each headlamp approx..Hella OEM part, 605 Euro each.
Now the question...
The MB original part numbers are, Please correct me if I am wrong.
Left Headlight A1648205361
Right Headlight A1648205461
The Left hand unit had 5 connections to the wiring harness and only 4 wiring harness connectors. ?
The Right hand unit had 4 connections to the wiring harness and only 4 wiring harness connectors.
I purchased two units from Hella.
1ZS263 064-531 HELLA - Left Headlight. This has 5 connectors.
1ZS263 064-541 HELLA - Right Headlight. This has 4 connectors.
When I switch the ignition on, both headlamps rise and level., However the Left hand unit then sweeps left to right.
Am I to understand that only the left hand headlamp on my LHD is the unit that uses the Option 615.?
Or do I need to find another right hand headlamp with 5 connectors and again only using 4 of them?
Connectors.
1. Indicator/Turn signal, 2 Pins.
2. Side Light, 2 Pins.
3. Oval Plug 4 Pins.
4. Oval Plug 4 Pins.
