THINKING OF BUYING ML63 / W164 FOR 4,000 AS A DAILY
So I know this might trigger some but I have found a 4k dollar ML63 in south florida . Is this not the brightest idea? I had the ml350 and it was nothing but a headache but i loved the versatility and convenience of a suv. I have a passat volswagen now as a daily and it's been good so far but i miss the attention. I drive about 40-50 miles daily so not really sure if it's in my best interest. Is the motor better in terms of quality compared to the ml350 ? what are some known problems i can expect to encounter? car has about 175000 miles and i don't know the history. Owner says the car is good and doesn't need anything ...now .
You live in the right place....so, figure the ML63 (any 63) is like a boat. It is going to use a TON of fuel. Have nutty issues wtih maintainance, every rubber/plastic bit is going to need to be replaced if they have not been done...if you are going to only do them piecemeal, when you get to the last one the first one you did will need to be replaced again...for me, I have a 63 as my daily. I also have four other cars that I could drive if I chose or needed to.

All good points!
Similar situation here, the ML63 is vehicle #4. We drive it in occasion, gets about 15 MPG average. Pretty thirsty lol, but I don’t really care as I just like the truck. $4K is really cheap, but there’s nothing more expensive than a cheap AMG… 😂. It’ll be a fun daily but unless your turning wrenches yourself, could be expensive to fix.
