I had a local shop do it for me. The steering column didn't need to be changed. Although the supplier I bought it from shipped it with the contact plate that was specifically for the 2012 model just in case it didn't fit with the 2016 one.

That looks really great, your interior is my ideal choice but I have the awful light grey headliner, its normal spec over here to have it and black as a used item is none existent so swapping will cost me a fortune.

Isn't it amazing how a steering wheel can refresh the interior

The steering wheel does make a big difference and for me the dark headliner makes it look much more up market. Here in the UK they come with light grey as standard and only black of the designo leather is selected, almost none got that.
I hate the look of the grey and to buy replacement parts from MB is very expensive, its my one big problem with this fabulous car.

The part number isn't fully listed in the eBay add, what is it please? There are wheels listed all over the next with number A205 460 so was hoping you can shed some light on the last two sets of digits please?
Did you actually need the newer contact plate / column module that's referenced in the ad?
Thanks
Carl

I did use the newer contact plate and the seller put that on the steering wheel for me at no charge. If you do buy this, make sure you get the correct buttons. The ones that come standard with the wheel do not work for the W166's.
