Is the ML63 capable off-road? I'm not talking about rock crawling or mud-bogging, but I occasionally drive on rutted, washed-out, rocky unimproved roads in the mountains and deserts around Las Vegas and need a vehicle that can deal with bad roads. It appears the ML550 with air suspension is capable; is the ML63's air suspension just as capable? Are the approach, departure and breakover angles the same or similar? I don't want to rip off an air dam, bumper cover or running board passing through a dip or over a rock.

I know for the w164 versions the ML63 didn't have 4Matic. From what I was told the 4Matic does make a difference in bad weather and off road.

I would say yes, but I would just rent a beater (SUV) to mess up...Most owners of a quality ride like that wouldn't dare take it to a trail...Just my 2pennies.
