2012+ ML63 common issues & reliability?

Never had a problem with it.
The only thing i had was the oil suspension problem that made the container over flow from bubble oil.
That happen the same week the MB send a recall about this.
Soo it was covered by warantie. (To correct the problem they only change the oil cap) easy fix
pretty rock solid build from my experience.

The real fix is to put a new clamp on the hose at the bottom of the reservoir. It sucks air in causing the aeration of the fluid and then causing the fluid to leak out of the cap. After driving the car next time, pull the cap and I bet it is all foamy. I fixed mine before the recall came out.
how has it been owning your AMG? I am looking at a 2013 ML63 with 40k mikes on it. Wondering if I’ll have to spend 4-5k per year in misc things breaking since there’s no warranty?? I get the pay to play thing but...
That exhaust noise is intoxicating.

... after 4-5 month's decided i just didn't like the coupe lack of space and the lift over to get anything in it.... It was traded back on Oct 31 for a new gle63s, black on black on black... i call it Darth Vader
... has a little over 4k miles... and zero issues. Runs like a top, super solid....You'll find in general these are one of the more reliable of the AMG's from what I have seen in the forums...
But the dealers will charge AMG prices on normal maintenance stuff like brake/rotors...
Case in point.... you can find MB OEM Factory stock pads/rotors at all 4 corners for under $1k..... this is a 2-3hr job at most.... Dealer wanted $3k..... I don't remember the tech getting a thousand dollars an hour ? so pay attention to repair prices

On the other hand their price on tires was reasonable... install/balance etc.... while i ate cookies and drank decent coffee...

So, likely ok but find an independent mechanic that will charge less than the dealer?
I’d love a new one, but this will be my car fleet vehicle (stipend is only $650/mo) and I’ll put 1500 miles a month or so on it likely. So I’m trying to find a balance of a fun car that they’re paying for (mostly)..without it costing me an extra $7k/year in hidden surprises. But I know there’s just no telling with a used purchase.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
