Is it worth it going to stage 2 and doing downpipes

Are the gains worth the price and effort installing down pipes and also getting a new tune?

I guess it depends on what you're trying to achieve. Stock, it's already quite powerful and will surprise quite a few folks. But if you're in for more power, noise, and smell, go for it. I have a stage 2 from eurocharged.....plugs, air filters, catless downpipes. Here's what my stage 2 yielded last summer; it was on a dynodynamics so the numbers are much lower than what you will see on a dynojet.

I would not do it... check youtube Tasos who specialize on rebuilding M157 engines. Almost all with tune and down pipes.

Make sure you go with the right tuner.
I am having issues with my current tune and I'm trying to get the issues worked out.
Some tuner use different methods of getting power and that's where the problem comes in.
Ask on different sites who tunes what?
ML63 use different limiters they can't use the same tune as an E class or the other classes.

Which tuner did you go with? and what kind of issues? I have EC tune and no issues whatsoever in almost 2 years.

Hello there, Tasos is our head of mechanic.

M157 engines have unfortunately alusil cylinders and the connecting rods a very weak fatigue. As long as those engines dont get boosted to high, not permanently driven high load from low gears/rpm it is going to be fine.
