Front Suspension Popping

Front Suspension Popping
2014 ML63 AMG w/ 35,000 miles.
Visualize me backing out of my driveway, with the wheel turned to the right; when the left tire goes over the edge of the driveway there is no sound, but when the right tire goes over the edge it pops. To me it sounds like a sway bar bushing or sway bar end link. Took it to my mechanic, who specializes in foreign cars, and they reported that it is a bad strut ($1,966 to replace one), and the bushing in the lower control arm is cracked ($2,420 to replace both). They also said the Upper timing cover is leaking ($787). I don't seem to hear the suspension air pump running, car always seems to be level, no lights on the dashboard, no issues when driving,etc.
Has anyone had this issue? I am pretty handy with access to a lift, but don't want to dive into this without knowing for sure. I will most likely take it to another shop for a "second opinion" as well.

Just wondering if you had an update? I would agree about second opinion. They seem a bit overpriced, and probably not included labor! "Crooks in the temple"

Suspension popping
i have a 2010 that was making the same type of sounds and was getting worse day by day. I kept checking all the suspension for something loose or broken and nothing. So i started digging deeper and there it was when i jacked up a front wheel. with one wheel up and the other down i tried spinning the wheel and it had a ton of play and i heard that clunking sound near the center . I thought this cant be too bad thinking it was a drive axel which was fine. It was the front differential about to crap out on me. It makes total sense when you think about whats happening to the drive line while turning with wheels speed. Shes parked now and waiting for the new diff to arrive. I hope that helps you out as far as an opinion on where to look on yours.
