Anyone clean shift solenoid screens and notice shift quality improvement?
Things are pretty quiet over on the GL63 forum so thought I'd ask about this here. My 63 has some clunky shifts in comfort on light throttle driving, mostly noticeable during stop and go traffic. It appears to be mostly up/downshifts between 3-4-5 gears with the occasional bump into first gear. I note that the mesh screens on the shift solenoids can become plugged over time which can impact shift quality I believe. I'm wondering if anyone has actually cleaned the screens during a service to see if that makes a difference? I figure a fluid/filter change was in order and it's not much work to pull the valve body at that point. Thanks!
