I bought a monster of a 05 e55 used. The car was in great condition except for the navigation/radio screen. It seems that the girl who was driving the car before me didn't realize that the screen was not a touch screen, or maybe her acrylic nails would touch the screen every time she pressed one of the side control buttons. Anyway, the anti-glare coating is all scratched up and the screen looks like crap in certain angles of light. WTF? You would think Mercedes would have perfected the anti-glare technology on a $95K new car. Is there anyone out there with the same problem? A solution?
I called MBZ and the only thing they can do is replace the entire module for around $700. Let me know your experiance!

 

I can just sell you the whole command unit for $450

 

I've seen replacement screens on eBay, if you you're comfortable taking it apart to perform the replacement.
