The question asked on ebay was a surprise for me also but had to answer it. If there is 1 person that believes this than there will be others. For the people who don't want to go to the listing-
Question was:
"Just was at my MB dealer this morning, and ask about update DVD, and I was told that once the disk has been used, it is branded with the VIN for that car and can not be used on another. Just an FYI."

Question: How is a "group buy" attempt copyright violation???? I am not selling copies of the DVD, its basically borrowed from person to person i think and it is original DVD. People borrow movies all the time and that isn't a copyright violation.
If it is than paying $250 for a map update is "Robbing" and no one seems to stop that.

Viewing and copying are 2 different things.
You are not viewing a NAV DVD just once. You are copying it to use continuously. Thereby depriving a company of compensation for intellectual property they created. Same thing applies for copying movie DVDs. Thats why there are lawsuits. And some of those have been levied against businesses that allowed this kind of violation, not just against individuals.
In regards to cost; that is a supply and demand market issue.
