I'm new to the forum, but needing some of you guys savvy veteran experience. I have a S500 2001 and I'm needing to replace my A/C Blower. Should I buy an new one or look for a used one? A mechanic wnats to charge me $1050 for one. Is that a good price or can I find one for a cheaper price?

How sure are u the old one is bad, made that mistake once on my C230k and now I have a spare at home sitting dock. Ur blower probly jst needs service and if true its bad I suggest u get a functional used one. Cos those old cars got a range of new fake parts all in the stores now. Best at it. Mine was never bad at all jst needed a little cleaning up, months after I replaced it I cleaned it and greased it a little and it spins like brand new.

Mine would only work in one speed, and they wanted over $1000 to replace it. cost me $70 did it my self.
It may not be the blower it could be the regulator or it could be the switch.
You need to go to somebody that's honest .Check here for parts
