GLK - AMG Dilemma
Ok, so I’m interested in afast Benz. I’ve been looking at 2005/2004E55’s and some C and E 63's. But this is about the E55's. I’m finding 20,000 – 30,000mile 2004/2005’s with asking prices that are 135% - 140% of the NADA clean retailvalue.
So, is the algorithm behindthe low mileage adjustment of $6000 - $7000 really that phenomenally inaccurate?
Is there some kind oftemporary shortage that the NADA stats just haven’t caught up with yet? (yeah right!)
Is this just such a lowvolume segment of the market that there is a very low sampling of data?
What do you think?

The reality is this. AMG cars have such a low production number and are not a familiar performance machine to the vast majority that the car itself will vary significantly throughout the year. As winter hits you will see priced come down to avoid having to store them over the cold months. There is not a lot of demand for the limited supply. The asking price generally has a lot of wiggle room, especially if you are working with a private seller. Don't get to worried about keeping you mileage so low with a 04/05. but be aware that the E55 has some costly suspension considerations.
Good luck, and happy hunting.
